This week was filled action for the JV and Varsity girls soccer team, with two games back to back Tuesday and Wednesday and a win on the tuesday for the varsity Lady Blue Devils against the East Henderson Lady Eagles.

The varsity team played on Tuesday against East Henderson High School and won for the first time against the team in four years. The final score was two to one. Brevard scored both of the goals in the first half, one of them coming early in the half from Senior Leah Johnson with an assist from Junior Rachel Holmes and the other came later in the first half from Senior Jessica Porter unassisted.

Thursday night, however, the varsity Lady Blue Devils could not find the back of the net more than once, falling short of West Henderson Lady Falcons two to one. The first goal of the entire game was scored by Holmes with 6.9 seconds left on the clock. The second half the Devils fought off the Falcons for as long as possible but gave up two unanswered goals at the end of the game.

The junior varsity gave an equally hard fought game falling short of the Falcons four to one. The only goal that was scored by the devils was a penalty kick shot by sophomore Kjersti Anderson although there were many attempts at goals throughout regular playing time.

The Lady Blue Devils will be hosting their next game at the Brevard Memorial stadium on April 9.
