BREVARD — The sounds on the roof are not Santa and his reindeer, but in fact are the sounds of Brevard High becoming a better school. For several weeks now construction has been taking place on many different areas of the BHS campus. For many years some of the roofs of the campus have had leaks, but are finally getting fixed.

The county makes a “to-do” list and then gives each school an annual budget in order to fix these needs. Because several roofs throughout the campus have been leaking, this was something the previous principal and faculty agreed was the biggest need.

The construction should be finished within the next two weeks if everything goes as planned. “I wish we could get all that needed to be done completed at one time during the summer” said Brevard High School principal, Jason Ormsby.

Although you can hear the men working on the roofs during class, Ormsby says it “isn’t a distraction” and, “Our students continue to perform at a high level in any situation”.

If everything goes as planned, construction will be done on time and fixing the leaky roofs with be able to be crossed off of the “to-do” list.
