Former Inn Turns into off campus housing

Recently, it has been announced that the former Rodeway Inn is now becoming an alternative off campus housing option for students who plan on attending Brevard College. In order for this deal to happen there was a long-term release that had to be fulfilled between Brevard and Tennessee, the agency that bought the former Rodeway Inn earlier this year.

Each dorm room will be designed to hold two students. A college campus life residential director and student assistant will also live on campus with students.
Formerly, the Rodeway Inn was known to many as a home. Just this past winter the Inn was bought out and tenants were forced to find new homes. At the time the Inn was sold it there were an estimated thirty families living in the Inn. All of the residents were given an eviction notice stating that they had twenty-four hours to leave the property. Many were shocked by the notification and were said to have no where else to go.
The transition of housing began on February 28th when the 4.7 acre section of land was sold for 2.2 million dollars to the Brevard Partners of Tennessee.
Overall, it has been said that the college official are excited to see the student body growing. Last fall, the college had a record high student enrollment rate, over the past two years the colleges enrollment rate has grown by almost twelve percent. In addition to the planned Holly cottage, the college is also planning to build a dorm area which will open in the fall of 2015.
