Outdoor Athletes at BHS

Brevard North carolina is center in Pisgah national forest home to some of the best, boldest rock climbing in the south east and some of the most diverse mountain biking in the country.
According to the Khare brothers Downhill mountain biking consists of a downhill course where competitors race for speed. Cross country biking entails both up and downhill and can take many hours over many miles.
Bergen Khare is a freshman at Brevard High School he is involved in downhill mountain bike races “In a downhill race you are trying to the fastest time out of eight people.” said Khare. Bergen Rides every day and practices jumps.
Henry Khare is a sophomore at Brevard High School and an avid mountain biker he has recently been involved in the Southeastern Super Downhill Championship. he placed first in the first race. “I ride every day and to train and for fun, I also pre ride the course before the race” said Khare.
Caleb Spradlin is on the competition team at Brevard Rock Gym. He placed 1st at a competition in Atlanta and 5th at the regional competition in Charlotte. “Mostly I climb outside but the competitions help with strength and training” said Spradlin. “I really like climbing its one of the best sports in world and Brevard is the best places for it” Spradlin said.
