Teen book club at library

By Theo Houlshouser

Would you rather read than do your homework? Do you love discussing your favorite books with friends?  Wouldn’t it be great if there was a club that read books and discussed them in greater detail? Good news for bibliophiles: there is a club that meets at the Transylvania County Library made just for you!

The club is open to all teens. Their monthly meetings are at 4 p.m. in the Connestee Room, and refreshments are provided . Though, the TCL teen book club has been meeting since January, they are still accepting new members.

Members have not yet selected their next book. The five previous books they have read and discussed include “Leviathan” by Scott Westfield, “Seraphina” by Rachel Hartman, “Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott Card, “Orleans” by Sherri L. Smith, and “Code Name Verity” by Elizabeth Wein.

For more information, including specific dates and times of all book club meetings, visit http://transylvaniacounty.libcal.com/event.php?id=600545, or interested teens can inquire about the club at the front desk.
