Upcoming drivers education courses

by Caroline Goins and Beth DeMoss

The fatal crash rate for drivers ages 16 to 19 is four times higher than for drivers ages 25 to 69.  It is becoming more important for teens to learn about safe driving.

BHS will offer a new round of drivers ed classes soon.  The purpose of the program is to teach students about safe driving.

“Driving is more like sports. The more you practice, the better you get.” Alan Justice said.

The drivers ed classes will be held on January 21st through February 25, 2015 on weekdays from 6:45 am to 8:00 am.  They will be in the BHS auditorium.  Students will need to bring a pen, pencil, and paper to each class.

Students will only be allowed to miss one class.  Make-up days will be held on Feb. 26 and Feb. 27 if needed.  There will not be any classes on 2 hour delays.

The fee for Drivers ed is $40.  If students or parents have any questions about drivers ed, they should contact Alan Justice at (828)-884-6173.
