The Future Farmers of America club was made to teach students important leadership skills and agricultural skills. At BHS, the FFA chapter helps prepare students for careers in agricultural fields through many different activities, trips, and competitions.

Sophie Davis, President of FFA, shared that her favorite thing about the club was meeting new people all around the state and country when they go on their trips.

FFA goes on fun trips that involve the program nationally. FFA students went to Louisville, Kentucky, in late October for a National Convention.

“People are really nice and we get to do a lot of fun activities in FFA,” said Abigail Gant, a freshman who’s participated in the club throughout this year.

The FFA club is funded through private donations and sponsors.

FFA meetings are once a month, usually at Brevard High School, and anyone is welcome to join. Contact Sophie Davis for more information.
