This year’s seniors are going on a trip to DollyWood and Splash Country on May 22, 2015 and May 23, 2015.
The trip will begin on that Friday at 6:30 AM from BHS, and they will be stopping in Pigeon Forest to eat dinner and spend the night. The kids will also have the chance to do some extra activities like play putt putt, race go-karts, and play other fun games all within walking distance of the hotel. Saturday they will be leaving to go to DollyWood and Splash Country, and will be spending the whole day at their choice of park. They will be departing for the school late that evening and will return around 11:00PM.
There are requirements that the seniors have to meet in order to go on this trip. The requirements include: projected graduation in June 2015, no failures in senior school year, no failed drug test, no Out of School Suspension, no more than one full day of In School Suspension, no criminal charges, and all absences exceeding five must be lawful with the maximum allowed being eight. Also, due to this trip being a sponsored trip, all of the school rules will apply to the students. Any inappropriate behavior/conduct will result in immediate disciplinary action.
The senior trip will cost each student $125.00; this will include the price of the ticket into DollyWood plus one kids meal, ticket into Splash Country plus one kids meal, and the hotel room. Mr. Ormsby agreed to provide dinner for the seniors on Friday in the form of a cookout at the hotel. The students will need additional money for snacks/gifts, activities in Pigeon Forge, and for dinner on the way home Saturday night.
All money needs to be paid by April 1st, 2015 in order to secure a spot for this trip. Seniors are also allowed to use a payment plan if needed: $50.00 due by February 1, 2015, $50.00 due by March 1, 2015, and the remainder $25.00 due on April 1, 2015.
Although May 22 is a Friday, it will be an excused absence for the students as an educational celebration.
