Nine FFA members attended the National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.

Carver Nichols, Haley Clark, Hannah Field, and Hannah Lemel participated in the National Competition for Environmental and Natural Resources.  They placed 8th gold in the nation!

When the competition wasn’t going on, the students attended different sessions where they heard amazing keynote speakers, including Amberley Snyder and Dr. Rick Rigsby.

Snyder talked about her life story.  She is a professional horse barrel racer.

Dr. Rigsby discussed how much his parents amplified his life, how much they helped him growing up, and how important it is to make an impact on the world.

Other than the sessions, students toured the College and Career Fair where they learned more about the colleges and careers they were interested in.  Also in the same area was a huge FFA shopping mall where you could buy just about anything with “FFA” written on it!

At night, there were different concerts and a rodeo that people could attend.  Students toured Churchill Downs, which is the racetrack where the Kentucky Derby is held.  It was interesting to see people practicing with their horses and getting to tour the museum to learn about history.

The National Convention was a great experience for everyone who went.  It gives you chances to meet great people, compete in national competitions, learn about your future careers, and do great things!
