Thanksgiving is a great holiday to remember all the things that we should be grateful for. We do this by spending time with our loved ones and preparing a great feast for everyone to share.

Most students and teachers plan on spending their Thanksgiving break with their family and close friends.  Erin Smith, a senior at BHS, plans on spending Thanksgiving with friends and family.

“We have friendsgiving the day before Thanksgiving,” said Smith. “I am spending Thanksgiving with my parents and my grandma and the TV because we are going to watch the Panthers game.”

There are lots of reasons why people enjoy their time on Thanksgiving.  Most people enjoy spending time with their loved ones, eating great food, and being grateful for what they have.

“I enjoy Thanksgiving because of the food and the time spent with family,” said Coach Dickey.

There are so many great Thanksgiving foods to choose from.  Some of these foods include mashed potatoes, stuffing, turkey, and pumpkin pie.

Kristen Camp, a senior at Brevard High School, said her favorite Thanksgiving food is sweet potatoes.

“One Thanksgiving dinner, I made two people at the same time spit milk out of their mouth and their nose.  It look very painful to be quite honest, but it was funny to me,” said Blake Forbes.

Another popular thing to do in America is to go Black Friday shopping the day after Thanksgiving.

“We go black Friday shopping every year.  Last year I took my little cousin Black Friday shopping for the first time and we went to Target. It was pretty exciting,” said Smith.

Thanksgiving is a very important American holiday, that most students at Brevard High School are looking forward to this year.
