For locals in Brevard, Halloween is a pretty exciting time of the year. There is a ton of things to do this time of the year in and around the Brevard area.

One of the many things locals like to do is go to the haunted farm. The haunted farm is in Hendersonville and probably the most popular Halloween attraction. It has three main parts.

In the first main part, the haunted woods, people dressed in spooky costumes jump out at you.

Next comes the slaughter house/ insane asylum. It is known as the scariest part of the farm.

Then comes the haunted hayride. Lots of people get on a tractor and the characters of the farm will climb up onto the ride with chainsaws and everything scary you could imagine.

They also added a new ride this year where people get to shoot zombies coming with semi-automatic paintball guns.

The haunted farm’s hours are dark-midnight. They are open from October 2nd-31st.

Another fun Halloween attraction is the Elida haunted corn maze located in Asheville. Elida is actually WNC’s largest non-profit corn maze with 100% proceeds going towards kids. Other than the corn maze, Elida also has a hay ride, pumpkin patch, and corn cannons.

There is also another haunted corn maze located in Pisgah Forest.

Another very popular attraction is Pinhead’s Graveyard, in the suburbs of Asheville. This will be their 19th year of operation. They even have the real Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre there to sign autographs. People go and walk on a trail in a dense patch of woods while terrified by a ton of horror movie characters. They have characters such as Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Jeepers Creepers, Otis, Victor Crowley and more.

A family friendly attraction is Stingy Jack’s Pumpkin Patch. It includes a lit-up jack-o-lantern trail. It also has a dance floor, and a huge variety of food. People looking for more scary/thrill seeking things there could also go on the haunted trail. It is about a 20-minute trail featuring a bunch of characters from movies and wild animals.
