French III/IV Students Teach Elementary Students Fun French Vocab

Last Wednesday, Brevard High School’s French III/IV class went to Pisgah Forest Elementary to teach Ms. Binky’s class Dr. Suess vocabulary en français, and play a fun game of Bingo. Seniors and French IV students Katie Russell and Nathan Pierron taught fun vocab, while the French III class assisted in calling out Bingo and helping the younger students understand vocab better.
“Our goal is to spread awareness about French, and encourage our younger students to take French,” said French teacher, Kathryn Bailey. “We got a grant to buy Dr. Suess books, in French for our class to practice, and part of the grant was giving also finding a way to give back to the community.” Educating students about the language she loves has always been a passion for Bailey. “I couldn’t think of a better way for my students and I to give back than to show them what we do in French, and what we’re all about.”
