Blue Devils Advance to Playoffs

by Aly Henneberry and Abby Smith

Friday night the Blue Devils left everything they had out on the field as they defeated the Pisgah Bears and clinched a hold of the Western North Carolina Athletic Conference Champion title along with Pisgah. Due to their exciting performance this season they are now approaching the playoffs.

“[It was] One of the most intense games I have ever coached. We had a few weeks where things were coming kind of easy to us and to have a game like that where we really had to fight made the outcome worth it,” said coach Brandon Snarey.

Friday, November 18, Brevard will be starting the playoffs at home and facing the Carver Yellowjackets.

“I’m excited that we made it to the playoffs and even more excited to have a home playoff game,” said coach Shane Worley.

This is the first time in three years that BHS is playing in the playoffs and much of that is due to the relationship that has been forged between the coaches and the players.

“Last year, we had a lot of guys still trying to figure us out. We had four new coaches from out of the area. This year, we had kids listen to what we were saying. We had guys work really hard in the off-season leading up to this season and it shows,” said Snarey.

The team is looking forward to starting the playoffs. The coaches hope the players will learn from their plays and from the experience to make next season even better.

Be sure to come out and support the team this Friday as they face off against the Carver Yellowjackets.

“This school is here based on the community and I want the community to come together and push our school to be 100% all in and all blue,” said Worley.
