An encouragement wall can provide a much-needed pick-me-up.

Like any other school, Brevard High School’s students experience low self esteem and stress. School counselors Hallie Moore and Courtney Owen have made plans to build an “encouragement wall.”

The wall will be located in the media wing and will have an assortment of sticky notes, which will have positive messages written on them for any student or faculty to take. Anyone can add a message, either for a specific person or just a general compliment.

“Students can take messages if they feel it’s something that [pertains] to them, or they can add to it if they feel they have something positive to share with other students,” said Moore. “It’s a good opportunity to spread encouragement throughout Brevard High School.”

The counselors have enlisted the help of the Freshman Year Experience leaders, who will write the first batch of compliments to get the wall started.

Construction will begin after the winter break and should be completed by the beginning of next semester.
