BHS Marching Band

The Brevard High School Marching Band had another outstanding season. This year’s show “Out of the Ashes” was a fast-paced 160 beats per minute and included modern songs including “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons and Dust in the Wind” by Kansas. 

The band had the opportunity to attend and perform their show 4 times at competitions and performed at all of the home varsity football games.

On September 16th the band performed their show for the first time to the critiquing judges at Tuscola High School. The judges told the band that that their performance was probably the best that have ever done, especially since they didn’t have as much time compared to past years.

Saturday, September 20, the band performed their first competition of this year at Pendelton High School. They performed in Class AAA(3A). The band placed 2nd for percussion, 3rd place band, and 6th place overall. 

On Saturday October 4, the band performed again at North Henderson High School for a competition. They performed in class 3A, competing against one other band, West Henderson. Overall the BHS Marching Band won 1st place percussion, 1st place color guard, 1st place drum majors, 1st place music, 1st place marching, and 1st place band.  The band also won 1st place out of a total of 16 bands for fans’ choice. Out of 16 bands that performed, the band won 1st place drum line, 2nd place drum major, 3rd place color guard, and 4th place band overall.

Saturday, October 18, the band performed at Western Carolina University in class 1A. The band earned 1st place for drum majors, 2nd place music, 1st place general effect, and 3rd place overall in class 1A.

On October 25, the band performed at East Burke High School in class 3A. The band placed 2nd place in music, 1st place marching, 2nd place general effect, 1st place drum majors, 1st place percussion, 2nd place color guard, and 2nd place overall in class 3A.
