Katie Reinhart is a new English teacher and JV and Varsity cheerleading coach. She grew up in the small town of DuBois, Pennsylvania, and went to school at the University of Pittsburgh for undergrad and graduate school. She has a bachelor’s degree in fiction writing and psychology and a master’s in secondary English education.

Reinhart knew she wanted to become a teacher since she was in the first grade. She was inspired by her teacher and wanted to be just like her. Reinhart taught at many schools before she came to Brevard High, including Brevard Middle and Patriot High School in Virginia.

“She’s a great teacher,” sophomore Rebekah Dobbins said. “She and [co-teacher] Mr. Spradlin work well together.”

Reinhart likes to hike, spend time with her dog and husband and read in her spare time.

She is proud to be a part of the Blue Devil family and this year she is looking forward to getting to know all of her students, tackling tough questions, helping students explore their intelligence and promoting school spirit.

Reinhart enjoys her work with the cheerleaders.

“It’s so fantastic,” Reinhart said. “The girls have worked really, really hard and I just have a great dynamic among them. It’s the highlight of my day.”
