School Fashion

As students at Brevard High, we all understand that it’s summer outside, but the climate in our classrooms go from arctic cold to desert hot. Also, with the summer heat, you might be wondering how you will not be sent home for dress code but not look like you have been in a sauna for the last eight hours. Well, I have been watching for fashion trends in Brevard High that might give you some inspiration for the next time you have one of those “What do I wear?” moments.

IMG_4364Senior Hannah Mathis is wearing a burgundy baby doll dress with tan sandals. Baby doll dresses are a new shape of dresses now trending. She heard her friends talking about the dress and decided to do a little online shopping at Necessary Clothing.

Hannah said, “It’s a very flattering fit, not too tight and not too loose, very comfortable, and it’s simple.”

The loose fit will help with the hot days but also the sleeves will keep you warm in the math wing.

Cosmopolitan also says, “ It’s the latest 90’s gear this summer. The good news is the latest crop kicked the empire waist to the curb and were a more free-flowing, sophisticated kind of style.”

Juniors Taylor Williams and Ashley Long are wearing a floral kimono jacket with jeans and a plain t-shirt.

Cosmopolitan said, “They’re the easiest ways to take almost any outfit from boring to boho, and they are so lightweight and breathable that you’ll barely even know you’re wearing one.”

Taylor and Ashley both agree with Cosmopolitan. They both said that they love how loose and comfortable it is to wear.  Ashley and Taylor got their inspiration from Lucy Hale, Elizabeth Olsen, and Chelsey Amaro.

“I chose white because it’s a neutral color and goes with everything,” said Ashley. “I like Converse because they are comfortable and go well with everything.”

The open flannel is an excellent option to pair with it because it will still keep you warm. It is also light.
