Carpentry and Masonry Classes Work on Cool Projects

by Katlyn Galloway

Our carpentry and masonry classes have been working on some cool projects recently. They have made robotics tables, shelves for Mrs. Ronneburger, and a bench for Frank Patton.

Patton, who makes donations to a lot of projects and groups here at BHS, had his 90th birthday party in the library. The carpentry and masonry classes removed the bleachers from the old gym and made them into a bench so it could be presented to Patton for his birthday.

Core and Sustainable Construction is the first level of Mr. Sander’s carpentry classes. Selina Brown, a sophomore taking the class, said, “If you aren’t sure if you want to go into carpentry or masonry, this will give you a little information on each and help to see if you’re interested in either of the two.”

Christian Anders, a Junior in Construction Tech III, said, “I really like the classes and they’re a lot of fun. I think it’s something everyone should take.”

Watch the full time lapse of the Construction Tech III class in action, as they work on the robotics tables and take a trip to Ace Hardware for supplies here:
