Fires Sweep Western North Carolina

In the month of November many fires swept the state of North Carolina, burning 95,000 acres of land. The lack of rain contributed to the spreading of the fires. However it is suspected that arsonists started the fire.  deer

Due to the threat of fire, all the fire departments in the area have been preparing. They have been building fire breaks. Connestee residents face the biggest threat. There have been no evacuations in Transylvania county so far.

One of the closest fires is in Pinnacle Mountain. It is now 100% contained, which means officials are confident that it will not spread outside its current perimeter.
